Dubai-based American style nursery is to open its doors this September, welcoming children from all backgrounds aged three to six.
Located in the new Science Park - and with a specially designed building - Smart Start Kindergarten is the first pre-school to focus on sport, physical education and well-being. With small class sizes and a focus on 'hope and happiness', Smart Start is a tailored learning experience for each child.
Offering the American curriculum to pupils pre KG, KG1 and KG2, Smart Start is aligned with Colorado State standards which ensures that all pupils are prepared for life long learning skills and knowledge. Within the early years, the nursery focuses on active learning and an holistic approach that is designed to ensure students learn through play.
The nursery will be headed by Principal Trish King, a well respected early years teacher in the region. She says: "Our vision is to establish Smart Start KG as a leading American curriculum provider in Dubai. We aim to discover and develop the full potential of each child in a child centred, safe and happy environment. We will ensure that each child is given the appropriate adult care, a physical environment that is stimulating, enriching and safe, and a curriculum and philosophy that aims to cultivate a love of learning through play. At Smart Start, your childs happiness is our priority."
The facilities will be second to none with an emphasis on the natural environment designed around a central courtyard with an organic garden so youngsters can explore their senses and an outside fairytale reading area. The classrooms are well resourced, bright and spacious.
For the first time ever in a pre-school, Gulf Star Sports will be providing an in curricular PE programme which is vital in establishing an active lifestyle at a young age, as well as a focus on movement, co-ordination and flexibility.
When parents enroll their child they will be asked to fill in a hopes and happiness survey to enable the teachers to learn more about each indivildual and to know what their hopes are for their little ones. Each parent will also receive daily updates via an app.
The aim of Smart Start is to ensure all children, staff, parents and the community feel welcome.
Smart Start will open in September 2017 and all pupils will receive a 20 per cent founders fee discount for their time at the pre-school. For more information and up to date information on Smart Start Kindergarten, log onto their website and facebook page.
